This shale is reanges from 1,500 to 9,500 feet beneight PA, WV, OH and NY. and is approximitly 95,000 square miles. This shale dwarfs the Barnett Shale in Texas which is about 5,000 square miles. Also the Marcellus Shale is said to have reserves of 50 Tcf as opposed to the Barnett Shale of 2.5 Tcf.
